Youth Science and Technology Programming gets Funding Boost
Waterloo- There are going to be a lot of youth interested in science and technology in Southern Ontario over the next three years. The federal government is giving out $1.25 million in funding to youth programs in order to "inspire students with science". In giving this funding the government hopes to attract youth, especially aboriginal, female, underprivileged and rural students, to science, technology and math studies. The money will go towards school workshops, summer camp sessions, and extra mentoring. This is a great initiative by the federal government, there will be many youth who would not have had this opportunity to get involved with sciences without this.
